A great mornings football and fun was had. We would like to express a few thank you's, to Eileen Boland for her help, to Pat O Connor, to all the parents who helped out, to all those who travelled, all the coaches and most of all the players who participated and showed that the future of Tipperary football is very bright. Refreshments and treats were had afterwards. Player of the week was Kieran McNamara

On 13th of June the U12 football team played their first championship game. Travelling to Mullinahone they faced a physically tougher and more experienced team. Our team showed great drive and commitment from the word go and created some good scoring chances but failed to convert. Mullinahone’ s experience told and they gained a strong foothold in the game to run out deserved and comfortable winners. The Moyle Rovers team played with great belief and heart throughout. This is new territory for this young team who will learn from their first experience in championship football. On Sunday the 2nd of July the U11 Girls played the first of their summer league games against a strong and good footballing Ardfinnan side. The game was played in excellent conditions at Monroe and had a real championship feel to it. Despite a lot of good work and great individual play only one point from corner forward Laura Golden was registered in the first half. Ardfinnan on the other hand with little more possession had converted a greater number of chances and led 2-3 to 0-1 at the break. Playing against the wind in the second half our girls responded brilliantly and with some great team play closed the gap to a single point with four minutes left following scores from Aedin Mc Cormack, Laura Golden, Éabha Dolan and Aoife Colwell. Our girls were now on top and playing with a renewed energy but were hit by a great individual goal from Ardfinnan’ s Kate O Connor. Our girls never gave up and an instinctive quick free kick by Aedin Mc Cormack to Éabha Dolan resulted in an unstoppable strike to the net leaving just two points between the sides. Our girls continued to press the Ardfinnan goal for the winner but time ran out and Ardfinnan secured the win by 3-2 to 3-4. Credit to our girls for their commitment and fight right to the end. Our next match will be away to Fethard.
